Privacy Policy

Wally Storage Inc. ("Wally", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. Plain language, no surprises.

What we collect

When you book a consultation or buy a rack system

  • Name, email, phone, address

  • Payment information (processed by Moneris — we don't store your card numbers)

  • Notes you share about your garage

When you use the Wally app

  • Account info (name, email)

  • Photos you take of your garage items and household items

  • Descriptions, categories, and locations you assign to items

  • Device and usage data (browser, operating system, IP address, app interactions)

When you visit our website

  • Standard analytics data (pages viewed, referrer, device) via Google Analytics and Meta Pixel

  • Cookies (see Cookies below)

How we use it

To deliver the services you asked for (install your rack, run the app, respond to your questions)

  • To process payments

  • To improve the product and fix bugs

  • To send service-related communications (install confirmations, account notices)

  • To send marketing — only if you've opted in, and you can opt out anytime with one click

AI and your photos

The Wally app uses AI to identify items in photos you upload.

Our commitment

We never use your photos to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.

Your photos are sent to OpenAI's API to identify items. OpenAI is contractually bound not to train on data sent through their API. We analyze the photo, store the results, and move on.

If you delete a photo in the app, we delete it from our storage. For items you've logged, we keep the AI-generated description so your inventory stays searchable — but the original photo is gone.

Who we share data with

We use trusted service providers to run Wally. We share only what's needed for each of them to do their job:

  • Moneris — payment processing

  • OpenAI — item identification from photos (no training, as noted above)

  • Algolia — in-app search

  • Cloudflare (R2) — photo storage

  • Neon — database hosting

  • Resend — transactional email (receipts, install confirmations)

  • Sentry — error monitoring

  • PostHog — product analytics

  • Google Analytics, Meta Pixel — website analytics and advertising measurement

WE DON'T SELL YOUR DATA

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever.

Your rights

You can:

  • Access the data we have about you

  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information

  • Ask us to delete your account and your data

  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time

Data retention

When you delete your account, we keep your data for 30 days in case you want to recover it, then we permanently delete it.

Some records we keep longer to meet Canadian legal requirements. Financial records (invoices, payment history) are kept for 6 years, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies for basic functionality, analytics, and advertising measurement. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — some features may not work as intended without them.

International users

Wally is based in Alberta, Canada. If you use our app from outside Canada, your data will be processed in Canada and the United States. By using Wally, you consent to this transfer.

If you're in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR and UK data protection laws, including the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us at hello@wallystorage.com to exercise these rights.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes get a direct notification to registered app users.
